
TECNINVEST is the Portuguese member of ENSR, a network of member-organisations in 32 countries specialized
in applied social and economic research. It covers the EU and EEA countries as well as the Candidate Countries. All
members are independent and follow a scientific approach to research. In total, more than 600 highly qualified
researchers co-operate in the network. Main clients include the European Commission, national governments, business
associations and chambers of commerce.
ENSR is made up of about 40 organisations (research centres, universities and consulting firms) and was established in
1992. Since then, ENSR has been responsible for carrying out to the European Commission
the 8 editions to date of the
research study "The Observatory of European SMEs", which is the major reference work in the
field.
Besides the Observatory, ENSR has been frequently engaged in various research assignments conducted for the
European Commission, the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, a number of European governments, enterprise associations and other organisations.

Since its inception in 1982, TECNINVEST has been working in various regions,
